UM-IHC is a signature initiative of the University of Maryland Strategic Partnership: MPowering the State (MPower), a collaboration between the state of Maryland’s two most powerful public research engines — the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) and the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) — to strengthen and serve the state of Maryland and its citizens.
Montgomery County, Maryland is a founding partner funding the UM-IHC, committing funding over six years to help establish the health tech research hub in North Bethesda. This funding is part of a larger strategic partnership to support research in areas like Applied AI, drug discovery and population health.
